I have been photographing weddings in the Washington region since 1999. After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photojournalism in 1998, I began work as a photojournalist.
I never wanted to be a typical wedding photographer. However, when I discovered that people were interested in hiring a photojournalist to document their wedding - to tell the story of the beginning of their marriage - I found my niche, jumped in and never looked back.
I became a photographer with noble ideas of having my images change people’s lives. Occasionally this happens with a photo published in a paper or a magazine, but it is rare. With weddings, however, it is different.
I have one thought when photographing a wedding: I am your eyes. I will be a surrogate memory preserving the small and large moments that make up your wedding. You will have photos that will surprise and amaze you in their intimacy.
