Never let rain or a sanctuary not ready for action slow you down. Schedules are tight and mitzvahs wait for no one.
Despite the sanctuary missing a bimah we got right down to portraits and took advantage of the beautiful light in the Rabbi’s anteroom and the vestibule on Macomb St. It may have been raining but the light was perfect.
Sam led a great service, read from Chayei Sarah wonderfully. With all of that out of the way it was time to party. Doug Sandler of Washington Talent was great to work with. Nobody, and I mean nobody, leads a game of Simon Says like Doug. I am amazed everybody doesn’t get put out in the first round.
Susan Gage of Susan Gage Caterers delivered delicious food. I could not stop eating the mini apple pies. And based upon how many remained, neither could anybody else.
