When I first met Grant I thought his younger bother was surely the one being bar mitzvah’d. No way this “kid” who towered over me was only turning 13. Carrying in a hockey bag as large as the average 13 year old boy I was told, “Nope, that’s the mitzvah boy.”

One of the amazing things about photographing mitzvahs is seeing the canyon-wide development gap in the attendees. They are pretty much all over the map.

Grant had a wonderful havdalah service bar mitzvah. I just love shooting to the lit havdalah candle, and the sanctuary at Har Shalom is a beautiful room to work in.

Please enjoy these few images.
